Meet the Tuckins
Who are the characters in the Tuckin world, and who inspired them?
Tuck
Tuck was inspired by Emmett, after his Type 1 diabetes diagnosis changed so much of our world.
He is brave, sensitive, expressive, and feels things very deeply - and watching him navigate big emotions during hard moments inspired the heart of Tuck.
Tuck isn't a character who never struggles. He's a child learning how to hold overwhelming feelings safely instead of hiding them or changing.
The pouch symbolizes a safe place to hold emotions while they're being processed - because children deserve comfort, connection, and guidance while they learn and adjust, not shame for feeling deeply or making other's uncomfortable for experience heavy emotions.
Luma-Rue
Inspired by Rose, and one of her drawings, Luma-Rue was created for the children who feel everything deeply.
Sometimes her feelings arrive all at once.
Sometimes they spill over before she understands them herself.
Her token carries the feeling of flooding — the overwhelming rush of emotions that can feel too big to hold.
But in the Tuckin World, feelings aren’t something to change or “fix.”
They’re something to sit with while you learn your way through them.
And Luma-Rue is learning that emotional honesty may be loud sometimes… but that doesn’t make it wrong.
